TAYLOR SWIFT DETHRONES CARRIE UNDERWOOD IN A WEEK FULL OF RELEASES.

Taylor Swift snags her second number one with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. “Safe & Sound”, featuring The Civil Wars, did it on April 4th. She also debuts at #25 with “Begin Again”. This week was full of debuts: the hot shot debut is Tegan And Sara’s “Closer”. It’s from their upcoming album, set to be released in 2013. Ke$ha’s “Die Young” debuts at #13, making her first song on chart, Rihanna’s “Diamonds” debuts at #19, the same position that “We Found Love”, featuring Calvin Harris, peaked. Two alternative groups also debut: Grizzly Bear’s “Yet Again” at #34 and The XX’s “Chained” at #44.

Last week’s number one, Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” dips 1-2. The song holds the record for most weeks at number one, with eight. Foster The People’s “Helena Beat” and Florence + The Machine’s “Shake It Out” are tied with 5 weeks at #1 each. EXTRA: As Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain” falls off the chart after 61 weeks, “Helena Beat” becomes the only one song to remain on since the chart’s debut. EXTRA2: “Shake It Out” becomes the third song to spend more than an year on the chart.

Christina Aguilera’s “Your Body” drops one spot, from #3 to #4. Last week, the song jumped 29 spots. Bob Dylan’s “Duquesne Whistle” moves 6-5, P!nk’s former number one "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" moves 4-6, Boys Like Girls’ “Be Your Everything” moves 5-7. Love And Theft’s “Angel Eyes” vows 12-8, making them the second country duo/group to hit the top ten (the first was The Band Perry with “If I Die Young”).

Rounding out the top ten, Passion Pit’s “Take A Walk” drops 8-9, and Green Day’s “Oh Love” drops 7-10. Check the full chart tomorrow.
