If Madonna and Lady Gaga did a song together, how would it be perceived by the public?

Would it be beneficial to Gaga because it would clear her name as being just a "copycat" and ease the comparisons? Or would it just make things worse for Gaga?

Would it help Madonna stay relevant among young buyers? Or would she be seen as desperate & just trying to get a quick hit, since she's having trouble getting them?

And how successful would the song be? and would there be peace among stanbases, or would the tension grow even greater?

My main concern about the concept of such a song is how well their voices would go together, and if Gaga would overpower Madonna's vocals.
