ATRL - Poll: Can Katy Perry Pass Rihanna's US Record Sales?

Both females have been huge since they have debuted in the US, but with Katy Perry still crashing the charts could she possibly pass Rihanna in US record sales ever or will the Barbadian native be able to keep a steady lead on Katy? Discuss.

Exactly. Which is why I think it really could be a toss up. The reason why is because Katy always does well in the US no matter what, and her rate in sales in the US is currently exceeding Rihanna's. Then again Rihanna continues to push out occasional smashes.

I keep looking for Rihanna's numbers, but they are all over the place and I haven't even found a rough estimate. I know Katy is currently sitting at just over 40 million.

Oh wow. And she's only released two albums.

Something that could prevent Katy from doing it is her age. It depends on if radio sticks with her in her 30s.

I know.

But POM is still charting plus we have TD:CC and other possible singles coming. It would be easier to tell if someone had receipts for Rihanna, but I only see a lot of rounding and such.

Who knows. I think Teenage Dream will remain Katy's most successful era in terms of singles, especially in the US.

Depends on what they both make in terms of their music.
