That's true. I don't believe Gaga is the sole reason for that change. She's played her part but just like Britney and the other girls as well. I do feel that music has evolved but because of producers and the new mainstream liking of electronic dance hits.

It's funny that Gaga's team acts like music did not exist before her.

It's funny how Madonna's fans think she invented ponytails, oxygen, gays, and music.

Let's be honest y'all, this trend of Dance Pop took off after Poker Face and Just Dance were released.
Gaga not only brought back performance art but she left her influence in the industry.

THIS.
actually there was already dance pop during mariah, madonna then beyonce, shakira jlo and rihanna
but gaga made the electro dance popular although there are others who started before gaga like britney's blackout but it was gaga who made it big with POKER FACE
then kesha followed and solidified the electro dance pop
still the one who made the trend is GAGA

People should be a lot more aware of this. Gaga has changed the music industry, not mainly through sound but through her theatrics and modern twist on feminine imagery.

The reason I don't like this is that it seems very specific to the US. I might be willing to agree that the US pop scene changed to dance around the time of Red One and GaGa...MIGHT. But up until then, all of us ***** were bopping to Europop dance music that was big everywhere else in the world. It wasn't anything new, except maybe to give it one more push into the mainstream. I don't like his vague way of not naming names that probably never "thanked" him for making it easier to be a DJ. It's ridiculous.

Disturbia, Hot N Cold and Womanizer were massive hits BEFORE Poker Face was released.
The dance-pop trend started taking off in 2005, leading off from the crunk explosion. Lady Gaga had her way paved for her by artists such as Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Chris Brown, Akon, Justin Timberlake, etc.

It's true in a way. Look at the ai of huge pop hits now vs when Just Dance and Poker Face were big. They opened the door for larger pop hits.

It wouldn't have made a difference really. Right Round, I Gotta Feeling, Fire Burning, Fireflies, Boom Boom Pow, etc. would've been hits anyway, and still popularized dance music in exactly the same way.
There were dozens of dance-pop hits in 2008 and 2009. So even if two or three of them hadn't been released, it wouldn't have made much difference.

The BEP helped too, but the others.
You can't deny Gaga's entrance renewed interest in pop girls. I'm not saying she started the trend or was the first to do it, but her music exploding did help the trend along.

There were millions of songs like Just Dance and Pokerface already getting big before Gaga was even famous, especially in Europe and what is popular right now is the David Guetta beats in almost every song (even RedOne started blatanly copying him) and I don't recall Gaga having that type of sound in the beggining of her career but if he says so

The BEP did not help in anything here.
Gaga opened the doors.
