Duffy sounds like an aged Pixie Lott. Idk why but her singles are pretty boring.
After I finish rating Florence's many singles and Amy's lesser known ones, I'm good to go.

I definitely think it's Duffy. Her voice is pretty good at first, although it grates as you notice how nasally she sings. Oh, and her singles are largely bland and forgettable--definitely eclipsed by Adele, Lily, Flo, and Amy.

It has to be Duffy though. I didn't realize people didn't like her very much, I gave Rockferry, Mercy, and Warwick Avenue 10s.

I think I was a bit generous with Duffy. A few of her singles are strong, but her issue is that she is stuck in the retro box and it gets boring after awhile. Hopefully, she expands and works with more diverse producers if she wants to make a comeback for next album.
I must say that Lily has some interesting single choices. I wasn't particularly fond of a few of them to be honest, but I enjoyed her for the most part.
Adele, Florence and Amy are my favorites. Hopefully, they make it through.

I know my scores are ridiculously high (I don't even want to admit how many 10's I gave), but so many of these songs transcend a critical approach. When you pour as much passion and artistry into your music as these ladies do, it can be downright irresistible. I hadn't heard most of those Flo tracks before, but she was slaying my soul!
Adele: 9.22
Lily Allen: 8.80
Duffy: 8.67
Florence and the Machine: 9.50

I explained it earlier, but she doesn't fit with these five women, who all started independently (although three of them came from the Brit school, but that's a story for another day ...). She's not seen as a singer/songwriter like these five are, and she doesn't have their acclaim/respect/credibility.
New update: Now it seems that all five women will have at least one song in the top twenty. But ...
... the competition is looking stacked. Songs that I thought would be easy top tens are struggling, and there are quite a few surprises in store.
