But why not? I mean, we use mediatraffic. Several countries are not tracked by it.

I don't think that the countries which aren't counted by Mediatraffic could bring 3M+ to Adele's sales and 800/900k to Lana's ones though (so more than the double of Lana's current sales).

There is only a 2 million difference between Mediatraffic and the label's report for Adele, not 3 million. I guess this is the labels counting shipments as sales for these artists (GaGa's label did the same thing). In any case, it's still beyond impressive.

I think it is shipments also. Lana's label is definitely shipping out copies constantly, as the album is fast approaching 1 million worldwide based on mediatraffic.

They'll both reach these figures by our sources in no time.

Born To Die is the third highest selling album this year already and the number 1 highest selling debut.

It'll rise to number 2 in the next two weeks or so. Hopefully it'll dethrone Adele. I hope so anyway.

Mediatraffic is flawed but still probably the best source we have.
There is of course musiccharts too, which the navy and the lanas use.
They have 21 at 19.9 million excluding this week (~600k?).
But they guess more to get every country in the world included.

I can't believe people in that article still don't think 21 is going to sell 10 million. Nothing coming up that will give her a bump? How about future #1 RHI, the Billboard Awards, the VMAs, the AMAs, Mother's Day, the Summer Olympics in London, a second holiday season and a possible Bond theme to cap the year? It's a slam dunk. Will be well over 10 million sold by the end of the year.

She hasn't had much exposure in the US besides nighttime tv and she has no single!! The fact she's sold so much in the US based from hype is amazing! Plus u know the US is always a couple months late!!
