Just thinking about the ride I've been on with Katy...
first heard I Kissed a Girl, was appalled. I grew up in a pretty strict, Christian household. That song was a no-no hahaha. Now she's the second concert I've ever been to (the first was *NSYNC, hahaha) and I can't imagine my life or iTunes without her... she's so perfect. The Teenage Dream era is so much more than I could have dreamed for her.

Katy Perry Explains Inspiration Behind Fiery Grammys Performance, Dishes On New ‘Sims’ Game
When Katy Perry took to the stage to her perform her latest single, “Part of Me,” at the Grammys earlier this month, fans were sure the new song had been written in light of her impending divorce from Russell Brand.
With a fiery stage and lyrics including, “You can keep the diamond ring – it don’t mean nothing anyway,” the association seemed obvious. However, in her first interview since the split, Katy explained the actual meaning behind the song to Access Hollywood.
“I wrote ‘Part of Me’ two years ago and I always knew that ‘Part of Me’ was a special song,” the superstar told Access in an exclusive interview in Beverly Hills last week. “It feels like my life plays out with these songs. I feel like I’m in some kind of weird ‘Truman Show’ where I’m like, ‘Why is this single appropriate now and it wouldn’t have been appropriate then?’ It’s just so crazy.”
Acknowledging the lyrical poignancy and uncanny timing “Part of Me” holds (as the first single since announcing her split), it’s clear the only thing blue about Katy currently is her hair, as she embraces the irony.
“I guess the universe is kind of — we’re kind of like, dancing together in some weird way,” she told Access. “Does that make sense or am I being to hippie?”
Adding, “I think it’s really important for me to write songs that are still honest and relatable because that’s what everyone else is going through.”
And her KatyCats agree! Just one week after her fiery Grammy performance, the single girl anthem debuted at the top of the singles chart.
“I’m completely grateful because I know that not everything will always be this way,” she told Access of “Part of Me’s” instant success. “Maybe if I continue to make sure I’m doing everything with the right motives, then hopefully, chromatically it will go well. But I have to live it up while I’m still young — while I’m 27!”
And adding to her music, fragrance and acting ambitions, behold Katy the gamer, with the soon-to-be-released collaboration with EA’s hugely successful game, “The Sims 3 Showtime Katy Perry Collector’s Edition.”
In the game, players can create their own Katy-themed rock-star reality.
“Well, if you don’t like sweets, this may not be your thing,” she said. “But, you know, it’s larger than life and it’s pure fun and that’s kind of how I roll in real life too.”

Katy Perry Channels Elizabeth Taylor
Katy Perry ditched her bright blue locks for retro Hollywood glamour on the April cover of Interview magazine.
The “California Gurls” singer, channeling a bit of Elizabeth Taylor, is almost unrecognizable with teased black curls and thick winged liner.
She also swapped her signature cupcake bra for a more elegant, but equally cleavage baring, design lined with jewels.
The newly-divorced pop star, who was interviewed by comedienne Kristen Wiig, opened up about her fans and family.
“Kids are so smart these days . . . When they see something that's being marketed to them, they'll call it out,” Perry said. “They'll be, like,'This chick is bulls--t.'”
Even so, the 27-year-old wants to take a risk and do something different on her next album.
“I think it would be pretty stupid to try and redo this last record that had all of this success,” she said. “Maybe it's time to do something different that can't be compared.”
Whether her parents, both devout evangelicals, will approve of her new work is another question.
Keith and Mary Hudson have often sounded off about Perry’s risque lyrics and sexy getups.
“I was not even allowed to mention the name Madonna,” Perry recalled. “I think for my parents and their belief systems, the idea that I would be influenced by that was very scary.”

Nah, she didn't state it directly, but it was implied. She could've just as easily said that 'the thought of me being influenced by Freddy Mercury....' or something. She was banned from all pop music, so any popstar could be placed in there and it would worry her parents.

Perry said that, in addition to those two Dream holdovers — "Part of Me" and a track called "Just Enough" — the Confection collection will also feature a brand-new song ... one that she just put the finishing touches on In a late-night recording session

hmmm...lyric change? Or someone thought she said Just Enough? They do sound similiar
"Tonight I'm gonna come alive
Make you forget about your 9 to 5
Are you ready for your blood to rise?
Tonight's the night I'm JUST ENOUGH for you."
There's still hope
