Madonna, that is beyond question. E=MC2 is one of the worst Pop albums I've listened to, Emancipation is extremely mediocre, and Glitter is boring.
Memoirs is forgettable, and haven't listened to Charmbracelet, but it's not enough to make up for it.
Music, American Life and Confessions are three forward thinking, mature, and intelligent releases from the Queen of Pop.
BEST ALBUMS OF THE 80S

Madonna - both had great albums (Music & Confessions - TEOM & E=MC2) but American Life > the other three.
I love Mariah's albums though. E=MC2 is LIFE and better than TEOM in my opinion.

Meanwhile, Music was a cowboy borefest of Madonna having a rehash of Ray Of Light, American Life flopped and was critically panned, Confessions on a Dance Floor used over-recycled production and flopped in the US (and was outperformed by TEOM).
Hard Candy was another uninspired album that rid off Timbaland and JT, and YET still underperformed.

why is this even a question? the only decent album from those 4 mariah ones is TEOM. Confessions alone ***** on every single mariah album sooooooo

How was it even a rehash of Ray of Light? Besides the two Orbit songs, they are completely different. They have a way differnet mood and.... well, Electrofolk is way different than ambient trance. American Life was critically panned, but just as panned as basically half or more Mariah albums..... Confessions was a new take on Disco with inventive production.
Hard Candy might have been uninspired urbanpop, but then what Mariah album isn't besides Butterfly, Daydream and Music Box?

Hard Candy outsold Memoirs by 100k in the US. Big deal.
Charmbracelet sold about the same as Confessions in the States, once again.

'Hard Candy', 'Confession..', 'American Life', 'Music' sales > 'Memoirs'.
I said EVERY Madonna studio album
In 2000 outsold that fail.....
Charmbraclet has sold 1.1 mil.
Confessions On A Dance Floor has sold 1.7 mil.
No where near each other...
