Does Moves Like Jagger (also) count for Xtina?
Simple yet broad question. I read lots of different opinions around here, and other sites. So answer.

In a little bit more than 10 years, Christina Aguilera is definitely one of the singers that has accomplished the most: 5 #1 singles in the last three decades in the USA (only 7 other artists have achieved that), over 110 million records sold worldwide, 5 Grammy Awards, second top selling single artist of the 2000s, and a song with more cultural impact than no other for our generation: Beautiful.

She's featured on the track so of course it counts. I think some people may try to discredit her because others try to overstate her influence on its success.

She's featured so of course it counts.
Now, if we're speaking about #01's, that's a WHOLE different question...

In most cases, yes, but the main concern of people emphasizing the featuring contribution is that many Xtina stans like to make it a key receipt for her now in every situation possible, when in reality she just gave vocals for all of 25-30 seconds.

well:
Any artist whose name is attached to the lead artist of a song with either "featuring", "and", "&", "with" and so on, gets to be an important part of a song, and the song's credit is divided to all the artists.
Don't know if it's clear XD

This was my most hated song of 2011. Absolutely dreaded hearing it on radio. However, I actually looked forward to Christina's part every time. She owned it. I guess it counts because she is featured.

Of course it does. You can't cherrypick which features count and which don't to suit your needs, regardless of length or quality.

All that matters is that she was in the original version and was there from the beginning

Of course it counts, the only people that say "doesn't count for her" are ones from here.
I have never heard someone outside of ATRL say it's not hers. It's always counted as Maroon 5 & Christina.
It's just an issue of how some Xtina stans make it sound like Christina made the song, so others discredit that.

This. The only person who can discredit a featured artists are the main artist and/or the main artist's label. Maroon 5's label gave Christina a featuring credit.
Therefore, it counts. An obvious example of a featured artist not being credited is Right Round, because I guess Flo Rida's label wanted a solo #1 or something foolish & misleading.

SHE COUNTS.
But, my problem are Christina stans going around acting like she is the reason it's a hit. By the time Christina's part comes on, the reason the song has sold has dug itself into the listener's mind in the first 2 minutes (Adam's vocals, the whistle and the hook). There's no argument at all about whether they share equal impact, how well Burlesque sold or anything, Xtina fans the "only ones buying it", and other retarded stuff I've read. Her part is not even 1/3 a reason why it's a hit. It's simply Top 40 candy.
But of course, it counts as her #1 song too.

I was going to say this - it does count, but her stans act like she's the reason why it became a hit
