Bug A Boo is ghetto trash...... reminds me so much of Countdown. I never liked when Bey tried to be a ghetto girl. Those songs FLOPPED for a good reason. I think Bills & Soldier was the only 2 hits that I could BOP DOWNE to from that sector.
"Hat 2 Da Back" (1993) Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip
Hot 100 Peak: #30
Overall score: 7.50 High score: 10 (1x)/Low score: 4 (1x)
"Hat 2 Da Back" is TLC's freewheeling celebration of its b-girl style. "Some people just don't understand the things that I do," T-Boz sings in the second verse—which might as well be an explanation for voters' treatment of this track. How did a song with such an irresistible chorus and middle eight rank so low?

I mean, TLC were so cool on that first album. Ugh.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Left Eye is everything!!!!!! I hated how T Boz took over after the first album. I quickly moved onto SWV & Brownstone. Hell I was even a Jade fan at one point.
"What About Your Friends" (1992) Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip
Hot 100 Peak: #7
Overall score: 7.54 High score: 10 (2x)/Low score: 4 (2x)
"What About Your Friends" was TLC's third straight top ten hit from its debut album, and it's easy to see why: the ladies bounce over an infectious new jack swing beat with boundless energy, particularly during the irresistible sing-along chorus. Left Eye's rapping is also never better used, providing a through-line for the track's exaltation of homies tried and true.

Totally! I never really gave it a chance before, but the four singles are amazing. And I love that Left Eye actually feels like an essential member of the group. I'm gonna have to go back and listen to the whole thing now.

After two #1 smashes, FanMail's third single—the soft and sensitive "Dear Lie," which like most TLC ballads, veers considerably into pop territory—failed to much of an impact on the charts, despite a lovely acoustic guitar line and an instantly relatable concept. Similarly, it rated much lower in this game than "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty," neither of which will be seen for quite a while.

I adore TLC, but I hate that TLC got so marginalized on every subsequent record.
And wasn't T-Boz more of the lead on TLC Tip? I feel like on CrazySexyCool and FanMail it was Chili.
Left Eye rapped on the majority of the first album. She rapped less and less as the group progressed. Chilli was never a main feature, just the Kelly of the group who did everything that T Boz's limited voice couldn't do. FanMail is where she really stepped up and then of course 3D, is her shining moment. T Boz was always the lead singer though especially on CrazySexyCool
Dear Lie is such a ****** vocal..... how did LA Reid and Babyface approve that ****?

Gosh, how did am I just realizing that? I always saw Chilli as the group's leader...

Damn, you really don't like TLC, do you, Playboy? Ha ha!
I actually enjoy T-Boz's raspiness; it's distinctive and soulful and has a lot of character. I think it's often the imperfections that makes someone's singing more interesting.
