Britney Spears' "Oops!...I Did It Again" album has held the record for biggest female album opening in the US for near 12 years now. The album sold 1.319.193 copies first week.

As Adele gears up to go into the studio and start work on recording new music, will her next album break Britney's record? Taking in Adele's riding on the success of "21" that looks likely to be certified Diamond in the US come her third studio album's release and has a chance to outsell "Oops!...I Did It Again" worldwide.

It really depends on, I mean she said she's taking a 4-5 years break and if she does it's almost impossible she can make it if not, very likely.

that long break was a false rumour.

And no, i don'tthink she'll break it. i don't think she'll go the gaga route and sell it for 1$, and i don't think she's the kind of artist that have those extreme first week sales either.

I honestly think she has a huge chance to, we can't underestimate Adele's selling power anymore but I'm praying for this ...
