February 11, 2012 will mark the 2 Year Death of one of the Greatest Designers in History: Alexander McQueen. He dressed a lot of our faves and kept changing the world through his vision and imagination. To this day he still does, through the likes of his close friend Lady Gaga, as well as Beyonce and Rihanna citing him as an amazing designer & wearing his work proudly & beautifully. He is one of the greatest inspirations in the world to me and many others alike. He will forever be missed.
RiRi spoke with E!, where she talked about her favourite memory of the late iconic designer Alexander McQueen.
The Barbadian R&B/Pop princess said, “Lady Gaga at the VMAs, that was definitely a big night for Alexander McQueen in pop music and I love that she pulled out vintage pieces instead of the new, more contemporary stuff.”

One of Alexander McQueen's closes friends who served as his muse for one of his final collections 'Plato's Atlantis' in 2009 has kept his memory alive through her music and clothing. She released her record breaking single 'Born This Way' a year after his suicide. She also dedicated a song on her LP 'Fashion of His Love' in memory of him.

"I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote 'Born This Way.' I think he's up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing," she said. That theory seemed to gain some momentum when her label moved up the release date of "BTW" to a date close to the anniversary of his death.
"When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing," she added. "I didn't even write the f---ing song. He did!"

Beyonce has worn McQueen many times in the past, but nothing more prominent than when she wore a McQueen dress in 'Run the World (Girls)'. Ty Hunter says Beyonce picked it out personally. Ironically enough it was one of the last 13 pieces he made himself before his suicide. She was recently photographed with a McQueen gold clutch as well as wearing McQueen heels through her pregnancy.
