They are just polar opposites. There are a lot of stuck up Gaga fans obsessed with "art" or something and get offended when there's regular party music on the radio. It just so happens to be that Katy's destroying radio so naturally, the hate gets directed towards her.

A lot of Gaga fans are pretty retarded tbh. They think Gaga is the end all and be all. Katy fans don't have much sense either especially when one of them bought TOTGA 70 times At the end of the day I love Gaga and I like Katy and they have no beef so neither do I. I'm just here for good music.
