There is a world out there much bigger than America. We cannot each confine ourselves into a little bubble no matter how much you think its a good thing to do. We have a United Nations for a reason. We help each other out for a reason. America is currently a super power right now but that may not always be the case. If we were the ones who were dying and being raped at a MASSIVE rate, you wouldn't want help?
No one said America was perfect but its a hell of alot better off than alot of other countries, why not help our fellow man instead of hoarding all our blessings for ourselves? There is no way to fix everything perfectly but every little bit helps.
|
Of course I want to help. I don't want the Federal Government to spend money on helping though, is what I'm saying.
I'm not against Americans donating, but really, I live HERE, therefore American matters are paramount. We should donate to foreign and domestic charities, but domestic more.

No. I'm against helping them more so than we help charities in poor parts of America.
For example, I went to Haiti this summer. Haiti is the poorest nation in the West and is still trying to recover from an earthquake. I was heartbroken to see everything that happened and I wanted lots of money from Americans contributing to the rebuilding of Port-au-Prince. But, that doesn't mean we should donate more to the rebuilding of Port-au-Prince than we do to the rebuilding of the lower 9th ward of New Orleans.
|
You just said we shouldn't help other nations until we fix our own problems. Seeing as everyone will have problems all the time, you basically denounced international humanitarianism.
It's fun watching you get tangled in your own words.

You guys are doing too much on BLaCKPoWeR. A more conservative approach isn't a bad approach - it even sometimes yields better results.

I do believe in it.
Religion and Government are not supposed to cross paths so gay marriage should have been allowed years ago.

If you're not understanding, let me put it plain and simple.
- I support Gay marriage
- Other countries shouldn't have to do so, also.
- I understand that not all traditions are acceptable, but its still not America's place to do something about it if it doesn't occur in America.
- I believe in charity for all nations across the globe. Americans should send lots of money to help rebuild Haiti, Japan, etc. But we should spend the MOST money, as Americans, on improving disastrous situations in America.

What's the point of marriage if they fail 60% of the time.. Like seriously as long as gay couples are ****ing in bed, loving one another, that's all that matters.. why the need for marriage? Just why.

Yes, people aren't defined by the gender they love but who they are. Gay or straight, people are defined by their personality. So I support gay marriage as much as I support straight marriage.
But for me, I don't think I want to get married. I don't want to be in a position where I have to pay child support for my kids. This happens all the time now with these divorces because people don't take marriages seriously anymore. If you are going to get married, please do it for the right reasons. If you can't handle being with one person for the rest of your life, then I suggest you don't get married. It's that simple. That's the problem some people get tired of their partner and they they end up cheating on them and the person they cheat with are usually younger than them, because they want someone young and fresh.
Marriage is not for everybody.

Here's something... If it's okay for a country to not allow gay marriage (or homosexuality, period), because of their culture...
Is it okay to persecute someone because of their sexual orientation... if it's their religion to persecute them?

And secondly, do you really wanna compare stoning someone to death to not being able to have a ****ing piece of paper? Why don't you take a step back and see what it is you're saying. Sensationalist dumbass.

Some countries put gays to death, though.
Anyway, it's not really anyone's goddamn business about who someone else is marrying, but I support it anyway.

I was referring to marriage obviously. Persecution and execution is another matter entirely. What I wa saying is that you can't compare the "right" to marry to the right to live.
