Comparing last years sales to this year.. Its disappointing. "Pink Friday" opened with 365K and landed @ #2. Rihanna girl..... Its clear America isn't here for an entire album.
As said in the Ellen interview: "This is my one day off, I'm on a world tour, and on my one day off I'm here".
She's doing so much in terms of the tour, that she doesn't have enough time to fully promote the album. So 197k is still great, even more so considering the tiny amount of promo done for it. People need to just calm down, and haters need to keep shut.

Why are you bringing up Beyoncé? Rihanna =/= her.
You all act so surprised when these numbers were entirely expected. 197K is predictable for her. It's the third time in a row people have said "she's established but still can't open well".
Sad how quickly the tables change for some people's way of thinking. People go from thinking her album sales are great for the market with Loud to putting all that mentality done the trash because first-week sales ruin it.
I hope Rihanna stans aren't pissed about this. At the rate Rihanna releases albums, it's no surprise that she's not getting No1 album after No1 album. Leave that to the others, be happy for her No1 singles.
Sure, 197k is pretty ****ing bad less than expected, but she'll make up for it in singles.

Those numbers are terribly low for a vet whos been in the game for 6 years imo.
But the overall numbers won't be....why is it that she gets ripped to shreds for her lackluster first week sales while others don't for their lackluster overall sales I mean, isn't the goal to sell well with longevity?!

Barbados don't buy albums, even if they did their population is 273,000
