Well, I'd hate any person who centers an entire album around the idea that sex, alcohol consuption and partying are the epitomized "teenage dream."

Aside from that, she used cheap tactics to get #1s, seems insincere in her support of LGBT groups, her performances are not entertaining, her voice is irritating, her songs are generic bubblegum **** that nobody will remember in 5 years, her songs are produced by Dr. Luke, she's shady and hypocritical, she included male nudity in a music video despite knowing that the majority of her fanbase is in the 12-16 age group... Need I continue?

I wonder if she thinks God approves of her getting naked on her album cover in hopes of selling a couple thousand extra copies?

I don't hate her. I just strongly dislike the bitch because she basically sold out for further success. One Of The Boys was such a great album and I was SO excited for her second only to find that its full of generic radio fodder. Now she just screams "try hard". I still think the girl has talent and is a great writer but she is basically a bandwagon girl now. She will jump onto anything that is the "in" thing at the moment. I've lost pretty much all of the respect for her that I had. Meh.

I love her music but I think she plays up her persona. She acts as if she is all nice and innocent, but behind it all she can be bit of a bitch to be honest. I get the impression that she easily gets jealous of her competition. Like when she tweeted about artists using blasphemy as part of their music videos. Clearly, it was targeted towards GaGa's 'Alejandro' because it released around that time. When the public and the media caught her out, she defends herself saying she wasn't talking about GaGa or anyone in particular, and that she likes Lady GaGa as an artist. You see, she's a fake and that's why some people don't really like her as a person.

Also, One of the Boys was the real her. That album reflects who she is and what type of music she represents. With the influx of other pop *****s on the rise, Teenage Dream was the obvious sort of record to put out in order to guarantee the best mainstream success attainable. She's obviously trying to be the top of the game. However, it's not the real her. It's just another pop album. TD may have better singles, but OFTB is a better album overall. The whole cheap ways of getting those Hot 100 #1's seemed desperate to me also.

That being said, I still like Katy. I love her music. I will continue to support it. She's just not the 'girl next door' that she tries to make people think she is.

Katy Perry was super cool, i liked her alot. Almost a stan but not really. She slayed me with her first album and the first few singless on teenage dream. But she got annoying, hearing her songs on the radio every minute every second every hour. I literally can't stand california girls, e.t. or last friday night! i want to punch the radio because they are so over played. But i still like her though

In certain situations, Katy seems to demonstrate that she's not really in tune with the social graces. I've never really thought that the bitchiness and occasionally prickly comments were intentional. Rather, I think many of Katy's social missteps are the result of a young woman who lacks instinct when it comes to tactfulness, or a woman who was not tutored in the art of celebrity communication prior to becoming a celebrity. But certainly, I understand why some people find her comments bothersome. As much as I've grown to like her, I frequently find myself wishing she'd just shut up.*And while I have no doubt that some ATRLers are genuinely bothered by her persona and loose-cannon nature, I find it interesting that hatred for Katy Perry around these parts reached its peak not when she was, for example, making hypocritical/stupid comments about mixing sexuality and religion, or when she made the complete transformation into brunette Barbie, but when she got her 476th #1 from Teenage Dream. Yes, she's milking TD dry, and some have used this fact to make the point that Katy Perry is desperate. Interestingly enough, the stanbase who has been most vocal in this regard faced a lot of the same criticisms around the same time that their favorite went for that re-release and generated a series of hit singles that decimated the charts for a solid year, or so. Though not everyone celebrated, it was a glorious time for that particular pop darling. Right now it's a glorious time for Katy Perry.

It's at 4,2 million. Even thought her label confirmed it sold 5 million already.

With that amount of singles sold (20m), almost as much as TF era alone. (17m), we would have expect TD to cross half of TF (4.3m).

however, TD is at 1.78m unfortunately, not even half of TF. (TFM EP is excluded from the figure)

Are you referring to Gaga with that particular pop darling line? If so, you are wrong. It was the Navy who was bothered by Katy's fifth number one the most. For obvious reasons.

And Katy's glorious time is nowhere on the same level as Gaga's. Nor Rihanna's for that matter.
