Banking Interest

The banking sector in the United States accounted for 15 percents of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is substantial to consider when last year the total nominal GDP of the United States was 14.6 billion dollars. Banks nowadays are highly regulated institutions. There are two main types of banks: central or federal banks and commercial banks. This week you will be working with commercial banks.

This week the remaining candidates must take advantage of the interests offered by the available commercial banks. Three banks have been set up for this taskand are as followed, RegBank, GeoBank, and SunBank and these banks offer saving account (SAV) and money market account (MMA).

Basically what you will be doing is depositing money in one day and withdrawing it another day to make a profit. All players are guarantee to make a profit but the challenge is not whether you make a profit or not but by how much profits you make to outgain your competitors. Interests from each bank will vary day by day by your action, literally.

ReginaGeorge, TheGeoKing, & Sunderland 4ever cannot deposit or withdraw since they are the bankholders. They are project managers for this week and their role for this task is to lead the team, to accept+reject+process deposits and withdrawals, and to communicate. They have the privilege to allow or reject deposits. Members on the same team cannot deposit or withdraw money from their project managers' bank. Good luck!

Question: I have another question. If someone decides to save money when the rate of interest of the bank chosen is, say... 8% and after a couple of hours the rate of interest whether increases or decreases, does that mean that the money saved will suffer this change of rate or it will stay in 8% ?

Answer: It would be at the rate that they deposit at so it is fixed at 8%. It's the rate at the end of the interval. Only till the end of the interval will the interest be added.

Question: Do I have to deposit $2000 everyday?

Answer: ONCE YOU DEPOSIT YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT. THE INTEREST WILL ACCRUE AUTOMATICALLY. You don't have to do everyday just as long as you pick the right account with the most interest.
