So, Avril is about to release Goodbye Lullaby in 7 weeks time. How much do you think the album will sell on its first week?

TBDT sold 784k in its first week WW in 2007. I cant find stats for the first two albums. Based on WTH's performance so far, and Avril's capability of selling records, how many do you think she will do on the first week?

Japan will probably give her 150-200k alone first week. I'll go with 350-500k first week worldwide.

Im actually thinking more in Japan ^^ 300k in Japan, 200k in US, 200k in Europe. I guess 700k. Although I voted 500-600 cause I may be too optimistic.

200K in the US is overly generous. 100-120K is what I would go with.

TBDT sold 280 k in U.S. I dont think she's THAT hated in U.S. 180k would be my lowest bid for U.S.

Like I said though, I probably AM being too generous overall, so Im going for a 500-600 k WW, which is better than most girls can do

I voted 400k considering the fact Avril has been out of the picture in music for a very long time, however, she's able to move copies and her previous efforts show that.

I don't think she's hated, but there's a lot of things you have to consider with Avril:

1.) She has not had a hit since Girlfriend, which was in 2007.
2.) She has, frankly, not been very relevant since Girlfriend.
3.) She's been gone for years.
4.) The economy has gone to ****, and thus record sales have gone on a downward spiral since TBDT.
5.) There is not that much hype for the album. That might change if WTH smashes, but that brings me to my final point...
6.) WTH will probably not be big enough of a hit to sell the album, and there's probably not many other hits since her label shelved it until she recorded WTH.

1. Girlfriend was huge and Hot & When You're Gone were both moderate hits.
2. She has managed to keep her name out there with her perfumes and her clothing line.

4. So what? Other artists still managed to sell well, so Avril could too. You can simply not predict the future so you can sit down now.
5. What The Hell is currently @2 in iTunes , top ten in three other countries and gaining really fast in other countries.

The first 3 points are the same.

Yes #4 will come into it, correct.

Hmmm there seems to be hype for it.

WTH is smashing with no promo, there is going to be extensive promo so yes it will have a bit of longevity to bring aware to the record. She recorded 5 songs with Max Martin that time. 4 are making the album, and 1 is gone to Miranda Cosgrove. She has singles, dont you worry about that

In saying all that, I agree that it won't do aswell as her past efforts, I still give her 500-600 due to her international fanbase.

Actually you're right, Japan is released a week before U.S. So meh, I dunno we can count 2 weeks of sales together. I guess I mean the first week of each country combined? ha blah!

I voted 200k-300k before i read it was WW I thought it was US only, WW she'll do about 600k i guess
