Alexz Johnson finally signed with Epic Records

OK Alexz Johnson fans, she's updated her MySpace with some new photos and also news that she has signed with Epic Records.
Alexz is now in the studio and her debut solo album should be finished recording by the end of next month. I've heard early versions of a half-dozen of the songs and they are just incredibly good--very different from the songs you've come to know through Instant Star, much more rhythmic, with almost a world beat--I won't say anything more, you'll have to listen to the album yourself when it's released, but if you're a fan already I'll be shocked if you aren't blown away by the songs!!!
Greg Wells is producing the album, he is just an amazing producer and instrumentalist (and songwriter, although the songs on the album will primarily feature Alexz co-writes with her brother Brendan).
Currently, CD's featuring Greg Well's songs have sold over 50 million units worldwide. Greg has worked with Mika, Otep, Timbaland featuring OneRepublic, Rufus Wainwright, Pink, The Deftones, Lindsay Lohan, Natasha Bedingfield, Ryan Cabrera, The Pussycat Dolls, Jewel, Jesse McCartney, Louise Goffin, Michelle Branch, Alex Parks, Hillary Duff, Creeper Lagoon, Amy Correia, Anna Waronker, Celine Dion, Ozzy Osbourne, Jars of Clay, and legendary music figures Carole King, Aerosmith, Elton John, and Ahmet Ertegun...
By the way, for those of you who wonder who Epic Records is, they are part of Sony/BMG, and have a long history of many successful acts. During the 1970s, its success extended to include The Clash, Sly & the Family Stone, Boston, ABBA (in the UK), REO Speedwagon, Johnny Nash, Heart (on sister label Portrait Records), The Isley Brothers, Edgar Winter and Charlie Rich.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Epic made stars out of the likes of Meat Loaf, The Jacksons, Michael Jackson, Culture Club, Electric Light Orchestra, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade, Luther Vandross, Gloria Estefan, George Michael, and Cyndi Lauper (through the Portrait label.) Other successful acts included Jessica Simpson, Shakira, Fiona Apple, Jennifer Lopez (from the WORK label) and Mandy Moore.
Other artists signed to Epic include Natasha Bedingfield, The Fray, Incubus, Modest Mouse, Good Charlotte, Live, AC/DC, KISS, Duran Duran, Rage Against the Machine, Chevelle, Editors, Prong, Pearl Jam, Suicidal Tendencies, Macy Gray, B*Witched (via Glowworm Records), Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (via Ruthless Records), Tori Amos, Nicole Bennett, FireHouse, and multiplatinum selling artist Céline Dion.

She originally signed with Capitol Records to make her debut album, but she left when they merged with Virgin Records.
