However, Nicki will bring in more new viewers than Mariah AND help Idol get the younger demographic ratings it needs (as would Nick Jonas). Not many young people right now give a **** about Mariah Carey. Idol is already good in ratings with over 35, so Mariah really isn't doing much to change anything.
