Katy's single run is more impressive than Taylor's album sales.

Where?! Taylor's Fearless era was way bigger than Katy's! Katy's era was publicised but not that successful. I mean yeah she had #1s but where were the album sales and tour receipts to back the single sales up. Singles are released to promote albums and tours.

Any record label would die for an album artist like Taylor over a singles artist like Katy. Taylor's fearless era has been twice as successful as Katy's Teenage Dream era.

Album sales are more significant than hit singles. Taylor's almost 7x platinum album is much more of a success than Katy's barely double platinum album. That Taylor had no #1 singles from her album makes it even more of a success. After all those hits, Katy's album should be rivaling Adele's sales figures, but it's not. It says something when people still don't trust your album to be worth spending $10 on after all those hits.
