Yes, but it carries a patent with Google. In the end, that's all that matters. Ask Apple.

This made me realize that Apple has top-notch designers. Those problems on the samsung also plague other Android devices too. Sometimes, the interface is just

I don't see anyone bitching about how Android's notification system was pretty much lifted and put on iOS.

"Comparing Samsung's flagship products before and after release of the iPhone & iPad, and how Apple's intellectual property infringement claims hold up." A terrible visual guide that ignores not only Samsung's own pre-iPhone designs, but also - and worse yet - the thirty-odd years of mobile computing that preceded the iPhone. Typical of today's technology world: a complete and utter lack of historical sense. Worse yet are the claims about icons: only the phone icon is similar, but Apple did not invent the green phone icon. This is a remnant of virtually all earlier phones which use a green phone icon for initiate/answer call, and a red phone icon for terminate/reject call. Claiming this deserves IP protection is beyond ridiculous, and shows just how low Apple is willing to go.

Apple is suing Samsung, not Google. Samsung has nothing to do with Android's notification system. They don't have any patents on it.

It's not copying if you decide to just tweak it when you already have the features to begin with. I didn't realize moving the 'Loading' bar from the top of the screen to the middle constituted 2 billion dollars in damages. Butthurt Apple<<<<<

That's not the whole point. All these tiny insignificant things are just pieces to a larger puzzle. Let's take all the physical aspects of the phones in question, let's take all the software UI aspects in question, let's take the icons in questions, let's take the patents that are being infringed (bounce scroll, pinch to zoom), and let's take all the testimonies and leaked Samsung internal documents that "analyze" the iPhone a little too closely. All these pieces create a bigger picture.
There is just too much evidence at this point that suggests Samsung had an agenda to copy the iPhone; however, as the trial continues, more evidence and testimonies may prove otherwise.

I get the bigger picture, but I think Apple is too little, too late. They have to realize that Samsung has evolved their phones so much in the past 2 years to where they look nothing like the iPhone. I know that patents are forever, but I think the judge should toss out this case and have Samsung pay a flat amount to Apple, and get Apple to agree to a licensing agreement that isn't so steep, because they were getting greedy. I'm partial to Android, but I also think things should be fair, but I think Apple is just trying to hard.

I agree that Samsung has made significant progress/change in the last 2 years in the smartphone realm. However, Apple doesn't really make big changes to it's products, just refinements over the years as they usually get it right the first time. Also, patents don't last forever. They last around 15 - 20 years in the US. If Samsung loses the case and its appeal, I'm sure they will reduce the damages that Apple is asking for by a significant margin.
