What a disappointing album.
If Beyonce had took the best songs from 4, and the best songs from B'Day, and mixed it with the gems of "I Am... Sasha Fierce," it could have been one of the greatest albums of our time. It was a great concept, but there were some "head-scratching" moment.
I have to go with "I Am..." even though some of the ballads are very bland. However, "Sasha Fierce" is all over the place and many of the songs (especially on the deluxe), do not scream "fierce" at all. "I Am" was at least consistent in it's message

You know what, I totally agree. If anything, the Bday album is what should have been called I am Sasha Fierce since the uptempos on there were wayyy more fiercer.
I am Sasha Fierce was supposed to be Beyonce's ''crossover pop'' album. Now that goal is achieved, she is back to doing music she loves: R&B and oldschool soul.
I think the huge global success of Irreplaceable is what inspired Bey to do mellow, pop/soft rock/folk songs on the I am part.
