I usually agree with MC scores for the most part. I only tend to disagree with ones that had less than ten reviews. All the ones mentioned - BTW, Blackout, BTD, etc. - have fair scores, in my opinion.

It's hard to tell b/c they weight reviews differently depending on the publication, but it probably would have been a 73.

EDIT: I just saw someone mention Channel Orange, and I do think it's score was too high. It's a great album, but scores in the 90s should be reserved for albums that are truly spectacular.

I have no idea about any of this and nor do I care, either.

I mean, this does provide a somewhat broad view but not a very good one. I tend to use my Twitter timeline, people of the same music taste, and the reactions of members here on ATRL to judge whether I should listen to / check out an album.

Neither reviews even mentioned the music. It was about how Gaga was pretentious and used gay people or some stupid ****.

Born This Way should have been lower in my opinion. It seems like the only reason it was counted that highly is because critics thought Gaga was smart. It definitely shouldn't have found it's way into the 70's based on the source material. I think the thing with pop reviews is that they tend to review the artist instead of the material they are presented with and that's why you get bias reviewers where the work is discounted simply because of a popstars image. Madonna for instance gets acclaim no matter what now a days simply because of who she is, same with Beyonce she has a clean image and a reputable artistry so she automatically gets good reviews while the others with less reputable reputations end up getting middling scores like Rihanna, Britney, Katy, Ke$ha, Christina and the like. It really is a shame since the men don't get equal treatment. You see male artists with these high scores and a lot of it isn't deserved.
