A lot of people recognize Janet as the worldwide star she was, because she had the hits, The album sales, And the huge tours, However some people group her in the "local" section along with other poor victims, Do you think she was local? State why (be objective, not crap like " i don't know her music"). Talking about pre-Superbowl Janet by the way

Well, she wasn't global and had a small international following.

Yet someone with a "small international following" was able to sell out Arena's In Asia, Oceania, Europe and Africa. How impressive

Honestly, I knew Michael had a sister, but only after I joined ATRL I noticed that her sister was a celebrity. I swear I only heard 2 Janet songs in my life, and that was only because it was played in the background for some wack ass shows

She was never as popular as her contemporaries, the three women she's often grouped alongside. (Madonna, Whitney, & Mariah.) She's the weakest one from the list and she also never experienced the same worldwide support either. Outside of a few spots on the globe (America, Japan, Australia, maybe a few others) Janet's not really an iconic figure.
In the United States I'd say it's:
1. Madonna
2. Mariah
3. Whitney
4. Janet
Worldwide:
1. Madonna
2. Whitney
3. Mariah
4. Janet

The Question wasn't "Is Janet as Big as Madonna Whitney or Mariah"

She was largely known worldwide, but mostly because of Michael's, as a sister who sings.
But she has no memorable hits worldwide.
Her music was very local.
So yes.

World's 10 Biggest Markets:
US: 10 #1's
Japan: No #1's
Germany: No #1's
UK: No #1's
France: No #1's
Canada: 6 #1's
Australia: No #1's
Netherlands: 1 #1
Italy: No #1's
Brazil: No #1's
She wasn't really a factor outside US/Canada.

She wasn't really a factor outside North America.

Not having a #1 in a certain country doesn't make you irrelevant/non-factor

After 80 singles, yes, it does. She didn't sell well in those countries either.

I know. It was is Janet Jackson local? And in referencing names she's often grouped alongside, I was hinting that yes she might be.
