It sounded CHEAP. Which it technically was. Wasn't it just a rough demo that somehow ended up getting popular. It just seemed like a halfway thought out sample use with tacky lyrics and a really really really bad hook.
Yeah, I think a demo of it was leaked, and radio just started playing it. So it was rearranged and rewritten somewhat and then released as a single.
Overall score: 6.46 High score: 10 (Ace Reject, Luigi, Honey, Great Username)
Low score: 1 (Georges, jose168, jinzo)
The lowdown: In this simple acoustic guitar ballad, Taylor sings to her younger self, reflecting on the process of getting older and her changing relationship to her home and family. The sweetly nostalgic song is the eighth track on Speak Now.
The vote: Despite receiving only six votes below 5, "Never Grow Up" didn't earn many big scores either and still finished relatively low on the countdown. A full third of its votes converged in the 5-6 range.
Best line: "You got nothing to regret/I'd give all I have, honey/if you could stay like that"
