I like the cover pic, I wish they had arranged the text differently though. Especially the MARIAH CAREY
getback on JLO's "Live It Up" video:

"Triumphant" To Hit Radio On August 2
Mariah's new single "Triumphant (Get 'Em), as previously announced, will make its world premiere on Thursday, August 2nd. The single will simultaneously be delivered digitally to radios at 3:00pm ET.
Also, we can now confirm that iTunes will make the single available for download exclusively a week earlier than its regular release on either Monday, August 6 or Tuesday, August 7.

She looks tacky as hell on the single cover, but I like it. It's Mariah. What were people expecting? She likes tight dresses, cut outs, her breasts, long weave, and airbrushing. She's not about to reinvent her image 22 years in.
Can't wait to hear the single. I hope the "surprise" today is a snippet.

But in Gaga's case, the album cover was tongue-in-cheek. Mariah's is just plain dated. It'd be different if Gaga had already covered motorcycle metal albums but she hadn't. I personally don't have high hopes for Triumphant (I want to though, and I'll still be excited to hear it) based on this cover.

I wouldn't say the issue is that Gaga's is "out there". I'd say it was poorly designed. The concept is not the problem, it was the rudimentary execution.
Mariah has the same issue. It's not that it's just a simple picture with a font, or that it's photoshopped. It's that its so poorly photoshopped. Whoever made it was just having TOO much fun with filters.
But, honestly, it's just covers. They mean little. The music is everything.

I'm glad it's a Monday/Tuesday release. That gives it almost a full week of being available on iTunes, which means a higher debut.
