I was about to say this, though I'd shift M.I.A. in as Gotye's competition instead. ( EDIT: Forgot that this was fan-voted.)

Gotye has no chance because he has no fanbase. Lots of people like the song but casual votes mean next to nothing for the VMAs. May the most obsessive voters win and all that.
