I'm here for the Radwanska sisters to win it. I need all of the hard players out...like Lisa/Liezel and especially Nadia/Maria.

Ok, Venus got through to the 3rd round and faces Kerber.
Next up is the Finn, Jarkko Nieminen versus the home favorite Andy Murray.

31 winners to 14 unforced for Venus
Venus has to beat BOTH Angelique and Victoria to possibly get a medal. She will qualify to win a bronze if she loses in the semis to Serena (likely) if she wins against the other semifinal loser. That's excellent for Vee tbh, a gold singles AND a bronze 12 years later

It seems as if Venus has been conserving all of her energy for the Olympics.
She's only been playing to get her rankings up to qualify, because uuuhhmm the way she's punishing the ball here.

Right like .
During her climb it didn't even look like she was trying much. Now it looks like she could get back in the top 10, even top 5
Roddick vs Djokovic today . I'm ready for the upset, if Djoker goes out the gold is GUARANTEED for Federer (well except for Murray tbh). Novak didn't play TOO WELL yesterday and if it was someone in the top 10 he would've lost.

He sure would have!
That's why I'm giving the edge to Roddick.
Even though he's not winning lately, he's(Roddick)a better grasscourt player. Especially in the best of 3 format.

Venus has been scarily good so far in both singles and doubles. Apart from a few too many errors in the last few games today, that was a near-perfect performance. She was ridiculed by some people for slugging it out in other tournaments just to qualify for the Olympics, and for saying "I still have good tennis in me" after her Wimbledon loss, but today she proved herself. Kerber will be a much tougher opponent than Errani or Wozniak though, but Venus will make it competitive if she plays like she did today.
And it's nice to see her play a singles match on Centre Court again, playing brilliantly, winning it, and enjoying it. As a fan that's all I wanted.

Agree with all of this. But actually I would say that Venus is actually the favorite to win against Kerber IF she has the energy. She's playing on grass, her favorite surface and she has won a medal before so she'll be playing with less pressure because if she loses she still has one from 12 years ago to harp on. She is also more powerful than Kerber off the ground and possibly STILL faster than her although she's 32 years old. I would NOT be surprised AT ALL if she were to win the gold again in 2012 (actually I would since she has the disease) but not that much.

If he serves well he can definitely win today. They've closed the roof now too, which surely has to benefit Roddick.

I hate it when people automatically assume that if you are a serve and volleyer you are good on grass. MJMS' forehand is going to sit up nicely for Azarenka to smack away and her backhand is so useless. She will get the occasional S&V point and a few dropshot winners but that will be all. Book it.

Serena plays doubles today with Venus in a few hours. Her next match is scheduled for tomorrow but I'm not sure when. I'll check up on that.

Bob Bryan and Liezel Huber are playing the mixed doubles together for team 1 and Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond will be the other team.
Venus and Serena would have been playing but it was a last minute decision and for both girls, playing singles, doubles, and mixed would have been too much for them, along with things like Venus' disease and the rain thing it could be mentally draining. It was a good decision
