Beyonce, at 6:51pm when she hit the red carpet was when twitter started to blow up then everyone tuned in, when she performed at 10:35pm that's when they hit the all time high and shattered twitter as well.

The show might have grabbed the regular 9-11 million but in the 3 hour spam where she announced her pregnancy on the red carpet and it blew up on twitter to her performance bosted just enough to give them the highest ratings.

What were the numbers...not that I don't believe you but everyone new gaga was opening and Britney was being honored...twitter fans saw pics of beyonce posing but how does that translate because ppl were talking on the internet. I know it set a record but what were the nielsen ratings for gaga opening hour vs Britney honor and beyonce pregnancy announcement...oh yeah she did perform but that was not the main event.

yall stupid.....twitter brought in the ratngs...it was #1 trending topic and everyone was watching and talking about it .....so none of them...i mean i watched hoping rih would pop up like in 2010 soooo............but being fair i wanted to see gaga/beyonce/adele performances, plus i wanted to see mtv shade katy and dive her no awards but i was wrong..........yall kill me with the britney stuff cuz im in high school and its 50% white and 50% black overall and no one is EVER checking for britney, she's like a non-factor

hold it against me, till the world ends, and i wanna go were the most played and biggest hits at my school all year. everyone had a copy of femme fatale so im surprised it didnt out-sell 21.

we all have pics of her in our lockers and as our iphone backrounds. but the biggest event was that our cave raised enough money to have a feild trip to her femme fatle concert at phillips arena where she gave me whitney vocals and beyonce/ micheal jackson dance moves.

You are sooooo right, britney stays on our minds 24/7. and yes britney did bring in the ratings at the vmas with her beautiful black dress and boots that veryone was talking about the next day, her amazing tribute that was beyond anything MTV has ever done before and her poetic speech where she introduced beyonce had me toooo emotional...
