Britney completely paved the way for Gaga. I'm sure Gaga would still be performing, but her mark wouldn't be nearly as big.

Gaga looked up to Britney, I believe she said she hung posters of her in room. Britney definitely opened doors for gaga but she did it in her own way

Britney influenced all the all the girls and their labels. Every girl wanted to be like her and every label wanted a Britney.

Plus the fame era was Very Britney.
One couldnt really tell them apart music, video wise. It wasnt untill Bad Romance /btw that gaga completley seperated herself.

Gaga's year book also said something about gaga being seperated at Birth with Britney.

Gaga is def her own artist now, but Britney greatly infulenced her. Shes a bigger stan than I am.

I don't think Britney has actually influenced her, but she just says that to respect someone who's been in the game for so long. She's said that about Whitney, Madonna, and the list goes on. However, I do think the rock people that she's mentioned as her influence are actually her influences.
