This week marks a lot of records, starting with the expansion of #01's by Katy Perry.
Katy Perry was the first act to top the chart back in the issue dated December 24th, 2011, in that
week she ruled with "The One That Got Away", which stayed atop for 3 consecutive weeks, later
on the April 14th issue she topped with "Part of Me", this song only stayed at the summit for that week, now, on this week, she tops again with her latest single, "Wide Awake".
'Awake' jumps 16 positions (17-1), it benefits from the new addition of points by Twitter followers, who being non-official ATRLers, gave the song all of her love, also the countdowns on ATRL are giving the song new peaks, while it still have a great amount of Airplay points, over ATRL's last.fm.
The other act with multiple #01's, so far, is Rihanna, who has topped with "We Found Love" and
"Where Have You Been", during 1 and 3 weeks, respectively.
Another record broken this week is the highest debut, P!nk's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" debuts
at #03 on the tally, this is the first debut inside the top 3 ever; the previous highest debut was made
by Madonna, Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.'s "Give Me All Your Luvin'" which debuted at #04 back in
February 18th's issue. These, plus "Starhips" by Nicki Minaj which debuted at #10 are the only
songs that have debuted inside the Top Ten, making Nicki Minaj the only act with more than one
debut inside the Top Ten.
This week, Lana del Rey ties Kelly Clarkson for the highest re-entry title, as "National Anthem"
returns at #14, just the same position as "Dark Side" returned back in the June 16th issue; now
both songs share the record, and Maroon 5, who returned at #15, gain the 2nd highest return title.
In other notes, "Hit the Lights" by Selena Gomez & The Scene is the only song that hasn't fallen out of the tally since its creation, it has stayed inside the chart all of its 32 weeks, so far.
Finally Wide Awake gets to #1! And so happy for Blow Me and Good Time debuting high, and Lights huge rise!
