The album jumps to #2 on the year-to-date album chart, pushing Lionel Richie's Tuskegee down to third place. Adele's 21 is far out front. If Adele and One Direction hold their rankings, this will be the first year in Nielsen SoundScan history in which U.K. acts account for the year's top two albums. (One Direction consists of four Englishmen and one Irishman, Niall James Horan.)

It should have been platinum certified already.

Certifications is based on shipments and not sales only

and they have already shipped a million copies obviously.

Their label should fix this.

They did it! US sales of Up All Night per today's HDD chart are over 36,000 for the week so total US sales are now over 1,000,000.

And yes I know platinum rating is technically based on units shipped but still it's great to see the actual sales figures reaching this milestone.
