I think it will be an album that has lot of angst. Not necessarily a dark album with gothic eyeliner and songs about blood, but more along the lines of something harder and a lot more grungier than Teenage Dream. I think the songs will still have that signature Katy "fun factor", but they will have more of an edge.
She does however admit she is in a much happier place and could never write an album solely about heartbreak and sadness like Adele’s “21”.

Anyway, I'm really excited for her third album. Her music has not disappointed me since her debut. She's always been consistent and made fun music. I would love for songs like Waking Up In Vegas and Thinking of You but I respect and understand her wanting to move in a different direction.
Much darker, eh?

I hope there will be some great pop tunes on there but I'm looking forward to more mature songs. Imagine if her lyrical content resembled Pinks. Still fun, still catchy, but a bit more serious. AND A COLLABO.
