I was recently inspired by the pieces on stage at the National Speech and Debate tournament, so I read a couple of those books.
The Help was a really good book, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx was mostly good, it was just really annoying to read because MTV published it and went all ADD with the pages. The whole book was like this:
The Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua was VERY good. I had heard about her last year, but hadn't gotten around to reading the book.
I read SuperFreakonomics by Levitt and Dubner after reading the first book for AP English last year over the summer. It was good, but I don't know why they bothered releasing it. I mean, they could have just updated the first book because it was in the EXACT same voice and had the EXACT same approach to the topics that the other book did.
I am currently reading The Hunger Pains by the Harvard Lampoon and Inside Apple by Adam Lashinksky.
