A gay man came out in R&B and hip-hop and is being loved for it. That's something we should ALL be happy about.
But no, the "I need to prove I'm smart for some reason" brigade's always gotta be "He just did it 4 hype!!!," because, you know, coming out as gay is a really traditionally great technique to generate hype for urban format radio.
Not to mention that the reason the coming out letter was written in December, released in July was because it was part of the album packaging.
And honestly Vin, don't pretend there even would have been a "right time" to come out. You would've questioned his motives and implied dishonest things about him no matter when/where he did it, because that's just what you do. It's not just you obviously, but it does make me wonder about the state of the gay community. This is why people hate coming out, period. Because there's always a "Vin" to tell you you're wrong.

Preach!

"Why is Taylor Swift regarded as such a good role model anyway? I wouldn't want any daughter/niece of mine to grow into a girl-bashing, *****-shaming, boy-crazy, eternally-virginal damsel in distress who seems to perennially look at the world through the prism of a victim. That's not empowering. That's not even healthy." - U4EA
