I still need to learn so much

Yes most idols train for years. It why they **** so hard live. Wish some western artist trained before they debuted
Every release is called a comeback. Even if they've only been gone for a few months.
Korea: SNSD, Big Bang, 2NE1, Super Junior, B2ST, Wonder Girls, T-ara
Japan: SNSD, KARA, TVXQ & 2PM
Overall: SNSD & Big Bang/Super Junior
SNSD= Girls' Generation

"comeback" as in they came back with something new, whether it's mini, album, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean that they came back after a hiatus.
In Korea, for girl groups, SNSD comes first, then 2NE1 2nd, followed by T-ara/Wonder Girls. For male acts, it's between Big Bang and Super Junior.
Biggest acts in Japan right now in terms of sales and popularity are AKB48, and a couple of Johnny Ent. boy bands.

I see lies.
BoA is the all-time Queen. Her greatest hits sold over a million
If you're talking about J-Pop artists....Ayumi Hamasaki & Utada Hikaru are considered the Queens.

Yes they go through training programs. Some for years some for months.
Every time a group or idol releases new music it is called a comeback.
The biggest artist in Korea and Japan is Girls' Generation.

Everything is so different, but I love it.

1) Yes, they go in training programs so they are able to be in top shape as far as performance, studio recording & PR.
2) Comecback is what they call it because it's an English loanword. Over there, they use a lot of basic words and phrases in the English language and integrate them into Korean.
3) Biggest artists in Korea right now are Busker Busker, BIG BANG, 2NE1, DBSK and Super Junior. Biggest artists in Japan are AKB48/all subgroups, Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi and a mixture of k-pop acts. Overall in Korea I'd say BoA, Lee Hyori, DBSK, Rain, Super Junior and in Japan Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, X Japan, Gackt, Koda Kumi, Kat-Tun, Arashi, SMAP, Mr. Children, and now thanks to the last 3ish years of massive success AKB48.

This is true, Ayumi is more successful though (remix albums, best of's and all)
But they sure aren't the ones dominating right now. It's all about super-groups.

Kara is Korean and they're popular in Korea but they tend to do better in Japan due to the cute nature of their music.
f(x)'s best work is their most recent mini-album, Electric Shock. I'd also grab the Hot Summer repack album and nu ABO though.

Yes, they forcefully taken into a confinement camp and a rigorous background check is carried out. They have to undergo various initiation activities, and some are even forced to confess their deepest darkest secrets so that they company can use them as leverage if they decide to leave. It is only the grace of God why SM hasn't spilt anything on DBQX yet. They train for 7 hours a day and are punished with starvation if they do not comply. That is why they are all so thin, it is not because of diets, but their own defiance.
It is called a comeback because every so often the idols old personality is disposed of, and they are held down and forced to change their hairstyle, etc. (see Taemin, Lucifer era). Once you have sold your soul there is no turning back. Your name is only a brand.
The biggest artists are no doubt Teen Top, B.A.P and the Wonder Girls. Don't listen to these demented fouls that would have you think otherwise. It's not their fault, the propaganda is convincing, yes, but all of this can be avoiding if you seek the grace of Jesus Christ almighty.

Electric Shock is a really solid mini album. Pinocchio is a decent full album as well. Try listening to NU ABO, Lachata, Chu, Danger, Hot Summer, and Electric Shock to see if their style is for you. I love them, tbh.
You're easy breezy and I'm Japanese-zy

Overall ? I bet it's Ayu. I'm sure Britfan knows the teA.
& KARA is considered a JPop group now, so yeah they're very successful. I think they crossed 1 million singles the other day.
