I'm sorry, but I hope this serves as a lesson to those KC fans who attacked other fans when we indicated DS was not a good pop single choice. I'm not surprised by its success on HAC/AC, but Pop was not going to eat this up.

Time to release "I Forgive You" in August if this doesn't improve.

Ditto. Yes IFY is more upbeat and may fit in with the "summer" thing better, but the lyric content is absolute trash, the opening beats are hideous and it's just not that good overall .The BEST thing about it is the flawless bridge.

Besides her Breakaway era, she usually only gets 1 very successful single in each album. This albums smash was Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) Dark Side was probably a good 3rd single choice, but it'll do just as good/bad as I Do Not Hook Up.

I'm sorry but Dark Side was the only single-worthy song left from the album, it was a FAN favourite and CRITIC favourite, hence why RCA and Kelly changed their plans to release a different song and went with Dark Side.

If the public and critics are begging for you to release a single, you would be foolish not to listen to them. Supply and demand.

Therefore it was the best single choice. The song hasn't finished yet and all this premature flopping is just making people look unsupportive. At least let this song have promo and a few more weeks until we start asking for another single.

I Forgive You should have been the third single. I've been saying it from day one. I told ya'll this one was the wrong choice. But whats done is done and we cant take it back.

IFY would get average airplay but it doesn't mean it would be a good single, it's just not that good of a song, it's basic and it would do nothing for the album sales either.

There are plenty of single worthy songs left.. especially Let Me Down, and The War Is Over.

Regardless of IFY being basic, DS has not propelled album sales either. Stronger gave the album momentum but it clearly died down as the single was beginning to fade.

I'm not claiming IFY will sell the album, but it would at least chart higher than DS and rank up higher airplay. I'm not sure what the logic you're using is? Clearly IFY will surpass DS in sales, radio play, and charting. It may peak in the Top 20, but it'll sure as hell do better than #97.

In addition, I said to service IFY in August. If DS doesn't pick up in a few weeks, I think that would be the smartest decision.

(Oh, and as a side note, I don't feel sorry for you because you have a different opinion. It doesn't affect me either way)

Dark Side is a sleeper hit like Already Gone. If we get some promo it will pick back up.

IFY will end the era if it's released, it certainly won't do anything in my country. If you claim DS won't be able to propel the album then why release IFY which you also claim won't do anything for the album. So by your logic if DS flops you would like her to release a song which won't sell the album either..

Anyway this is a thread about the single and it's performance, if y'all want to talk about other songs/singles then go to a different thread.
