This is embarrassing indeed, but 600k is his best so far....I mean, what did you expect? He's no Gaga or Taylor Swift (sales powerhouses), but he IS indeed the most famous young male mainstream artist today.

It's not a fair comparison tbh. Madonna had little to no competition + she was fresh and unique. Bieber is stuck in a time of piracy + lots of competition.

This is his first studio album after his breakthrough era so naturally more people would buy it first week than they did the last, like (Backstreet Boys, Britney and Gaga for example).

It's clear that the album is underperforming and the fact that so many people predicted it to sell 1 million first week, yet it couldn't even do that worldwide says enough. It'll struggle to sell 4 million in the end.
