Mariah has more hits in almost every music market than Celine.
Celine is and has always been a bland vocalist, who's most remembered songs are covers that she sung note for note, just proving her lack of musicianship.
And Celine has sold AT MOST 10M more albums than Mariah, with 30000x times the amount of material so get out of here with that BS.

I usually do too, but Mariah can pull it off and pull it off really well, usually (especially during her peak). Others (Xtina ) try so hard to do those runs and it doesn't work at all. Mariah had the tone and the range to do it, and for the most part she did a fantastic job. There's definitely an art to the "gymnastics stuff" and Mariah's harmonies and runs are on point
please. making your voice sound like a mouse doesn't make your voice good. it just means you can sound like a mouse
even tho i'm not a fan of the flaunting your voice by making it waver in different vocal ranges, i think some of the best vocalists of today are probably Beyonce and Christina Aguilera.
