RIHANNA has been blasted for a "disgusting and shameful" performance in Sweden just hours after the death of her grandmother.

Fans accused the 24-year-old of miming and being under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the Peace & Love Festival in Borlänge, Sweden.

Unaware of her private pain, they blasted the singer on Twitter for being "too high to perform".

"Rihanna is blatantly under the influence of drugs and is allowed to perform in front of children and young people. It is disgusting and shameful. #pal12," one fan wrote.

Another wrote: "Playback and being high as a kite is not rocking P&L #Rihanna #pal12".

The crowd's anger wasn't helped by the fact that she was 45 minutes late and also forgot which country she was performing in.

Rihanna dedicated Redemption Song to Norway, after referring to accused mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people in twin attacks in the Norwegian capital last year.

A concertgoer tweeted: "Note to Rihanna. Borlänge isnt't Oslo and no people weren't killed by Breivik here... But thanks for coming #pal12."

Rihanna had played at the Kollen Festival in Oslo just days earlier and had clearly confused the two countries.

Just hours before the performance, the Barbadian singer had mourned the loss of her grandmother, whom she called Gran Gran Dolly.

She posted several intimate portraits of the pair on Twitter, alongside the words: “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you”.

Rihanna’s troublesome ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, also took to the social networking site to express his condolences.

"Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP," Brown wrote.

His mother, Joyce Hawkins, also sent her love to the singer.

"@rihanna ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL," she wrote.

Rihanna often used her Twitter account to speak fondly of her Grandmother.

Star may have been putting on a brave face, but some fans clame she looked on drugs.

Well she was obviously very distraught about her grandmother when this was happening. Maybe she shouldn't have performed at all if that was the case, but it's still very sad.

I can understand the fans frustration they expect a performance not miming or lack of connection from the singer but I can see why it may be hard for rih to perform as usual given the current situation she's in

I feel bad for her, she was brave on performing after her grandmother's death.

but IMO, Rihanna needs to rest, and take a time for herself, she is realeasing non-stop albums every year, touring, and releasing a bunch of singles and collaborations ..... I think her label exploits her and treats her like a milking product ..... and she is a human being, she's resisted all of this because she is young and full of energy , but she is not a machine one day her body and health could collapse.

the best thing she can do is taking a break.

Yeah I think she had the option of not performing ... I don't know why she chose to perform...

and during her performance she could use an excuse to say her grandmother has died by dedicated her a song or something like that, and then the people there present would've understood.
