THANK YOU.
I can't describe my feeling how much I love this album.
But something makes me completely forget this album when I want to recommend Madonna's music to my friends.

Certain people to remember that The Fame is, like, half filler. "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi" do not an album make.

I mean, it's a solid debut, and definitely worthy of the hype, and I'm glad she's improved upon it and proved that the hype was worth it. It's just.......
Well, it has Starstruck, Paper Gangster, Brown Eyes, and a couple other. I like the other non-singles but it's by no means a perfect or close to perfect album.

It's not like I "hate" Madonna. I just hate her personality, the way she treats new icns(Gaga), and her garish attitude.
Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge her importance as the first HUGEEEE, worldwide pop female(and the only until Britney) and the amazing achievements she has.... But I just don't think she's as talented as the other pop girls(of today....... Most of them)
First off, if Madonna had any control of her music in the 80's, she would be nothing, no one would know or care about her.
She's not the greatest singer(Weaker than Kylie really), isn't a ""real" songwriter...... BUT SHE CAN PERFORM. But is that enough? Just performance and "hype"? I just feel as if Madonna is nothing but a persona,an empty doll if you will, with no substance to all of her accolades... She was merely shock value in her earlier years which is why I will NOT allow people to make her more that what she is. She does not deserve her many, many accolades: her writers, producers, manager, agent, stylist, and record label do. She is a fabricated artist and I won't Stan for emptiness.
But I won't argue with people about her, because I know what she means to a lot of individuals, and I'm not going to argue with them about someone they like(unless it's some irrelevant bitch).....
Whoa.... I need a ****ing SMOKE

One of the most respected aspects of Madonna's career is exactly how she has maintained control over her career from the beginning.
Let's not pretend she's a **** singer either - she's not the best, but she has given wonderful vocal performances - I have yet to see a vocal as emotional as Papa Don't Preach, Live To Tell, Like a Prayer or Frozen in any younger popstar's music.
She's not an "empty vessel" ( ) and she has written some amazing songs.
Yes, most of her work is done as a collaboration, but she's always called the artistic and business shots.
She is certainly not "fabricated", and to say she's not as talented as younger popstars...
I wouldn't mind if you didn't like Madonna because of her vocal tone or general music quality, but to just lie about her, while saying Lady Gaga is an "icon"...? Ew.

DID I SAY GAGA? There is a difference between being a current "icon" and being Madonna. Don't misjnterpret Madge has overstepped the word icon, she has become a legend. There's a reason I didn't list people. I said the way that she shades her is ridiculous.
Truth be told, all the big pop girls now (but Brit and Rih.) have more talent than Madge. Madonna is smart;she is a business woman. Maybe the songs she writes are nice and fine, but they aren't smashes. The fact remains that if she didn't have the writers or the producers, or the management, or the exposure, we wouldn't know of the "queen of pop". Madonna is smart, she knows how to sell a record.

You did say Gaga, and unless I read your typo wrong, you said icon in regards to her.
I disagree with you on the talent. For example, Beyonce's a better vocalist, but Madonna's pretty much better on everything else. She's certainly more talented than Katy, Britney, Rihanna and Gaga (she is a good singer, good enough writer and OK dancer though - she's closer to Madonna's creativity than the others too).
And I'm sorry, but you could say the last bit about any artist. Everyone else uses that kind of support, and everyone she's ever worked with has said she's been the one in control throughout her career.
How much of Madonna's music have you listened to? She's written some great lyrics on albums like Ray of Light, Like a Prayer, Bedtime Stories, Erotica, Music and Confessions.
If you're one of those Hard Candy/MDNA people, I will have been wasting my time.

Well this thread is about her music, so talking about her personality is kind of pointless.
Madonna had control of her music... she was always in control of her career. And looking at the names in your signature... What kinda double standards?
All Pop artists rely on producers etc for their music. Don't discredit Madonna for that but then have Gaga (I know she writes/cowrites all her music) and Nicki in your signature!!!
Also, how many Madge albums have you heard? Her music is a lot more than controversy, and that's part of the reason why she ahs those accolades.

I'm not trying to discredit madonna, but what do writing credits mean for Madonna? An entire chorus? All of the verses? Simply changing one word?

There are a few songs where she changes a few words but they're not on that list. Writing credits mean she went in with the producer and wrote/produced the album/song with them.
