That review literally has no credibility whatsoever if you read it and also consider the fact that that site doesn't review pop albums...
That zero, because there are only 33 total reviews counted for BTW on Metacritic, actually lowers her overall average about 2-3 points. Without it, her average is a 73-74 (depending on rounding), which solidly puts it ahead of The Fame (71) and also solidly on par with Beyonce's 4 (73) and Adele's 21 (76). Of course, ultimately a few points here and there on Metacritic don't really matter, but it's just incredibly annoying that a review that is basically trolling can have that much influence over a major pop album's perceived critical acclaim.

Exactly. I really have no idea why Metacritic considers them credible. They did the same thing to Born To Die; the review was just an index of how many times various words appear on the album.

I can't at people acting like BTW is a bad album. But really, what can you expect from a forum filled with people who prefer "**** me, lick me, let's party all night" to any other form of pop music. "The Edge of Glory" alone is enough reason for BTW to be on this list.

It's not the worst thing ever but it's not the eleventh greatest female album of all time.
Putting it above albums like The Miseducation, JLP and Rhythm Nation 1814 is an embarrassment.

Also, I love Aretha, but RS are just licking her ass again. That album is not "great" by any means, and neither are her other albums.
Either Joni or Dusty deserved to be Number One.

Gurl, stop(talking about your aretha two piece) that is yoir damn opinion, quit trying to pass it off as a ****ing fact. Sit!

I mean, if we really want to get into brass tacks about misguided rankings, I find 21 in all its vanilla glory sitting pretty at #6 (ALL TIME) to be more unnerving.

at least Yeah Yeah Yeahs got up there one of my faves. I think Metric should have too though... But I'm not sure which album it would be for them...Their only mainstream success was Fantasies I guess, and it's a good record but... meh. This list isn't bad overall though. Considering it's only counting mainstream success albums...
edit: on second look through though the list kind of sucks... Born this Way at 11, 4 ranked period, and no Body Talk by Robyn? Body Talk is one of the most critically acclaimed female pop albums EVER. I've never seen a bad review for it.
MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS
METRIC/EMILY HAINES
LANA DEL REY
THE KNIFE/FEVER RAY
LILY ALLEN
TEGAN AND SARA
P!NK

Well yeah, I do agree that it's too high. But I won't complain.

Go away Riri stan. What an immature fool.
I love Rolling Stone. Many albums on there are great, albeit some might be too high, but Back to Black needs to be on there!!
Gaga is in the right place. Born This Way IS that good.
Ray of Light should be there.
Lauryn Hill & Alanis should be higher.
21 should definitely be lower.
& maybe another Bjork album wouldn't hurt (:
Gaga | Bey | Azealia | Lana | Utada

Not gonna lie lol I haven't heard like 3/4 of them in entirety so I wouldn't know.
Well atleast Born This Way made the cut.It got a great metacritic score, got nominated for AOTY at the Grammys, continues to be praised by several reputed magazines and critics, and people continue to be pressed.
NO STAN GIBBERISH,ONLY THE TRUTH.
FAVOURITES:

I am like...this close to cancelling my subscription. As Adele would say, rubbish list.

And write our fire in the sky
Another day to see the wheel turning
Another avenue to try
