I mean, "Chillin" was a huge flop and that was during the whole Gaga breakthrough galore. Then Wale went on to have two urban hits, which charted higher on the Hot 100. She took the urban appeal away from the songs. She works better on her own or as a lead artist.
Nah, that song wouldnt of charted with or without gaga. She sounded more like M.I.A than anything.
Also, wasn't telephone the last song beyonce broke top 10 with?
I think it would have been a success on urban radio if Gaga wasn't on it. Even a Gaga sample on "Make Her Say" failed to go far on urban radio after Cudi's top 5 urban hit, "Day N Nite." She doesn't work well as a feature.
I don't know...because it could have easily been an E.T type situation...where Rhythmic/urban played the remix and pop played maily the solo
Wikipedia says the album version was sent to urban, but most people say that the remix is the one that got the airplay, but it could have just been certain radio stations. It's a bad song either way, though. I just find it odd that the song didn't do well on even urban stations after Beyonce's success there up until that point. Even "Halo," a pop/rhythmic song, did well.
Jennifer Lopez - Jenny From The Block feat. Styles P and Jadakiss
I really had to look up who featured this, nobody remembers them.
But I don't mind hearing both of them in this song. I think they are really good/funny rappers, Jadakiss made better success than Styles P espcially after the song Jenny From The Block. But they could have done better with some of their music.

are u sure? u trying to make me laugh? S&M was already a hit @ #2 without promo, you should thank that software that made S&M number 1 not that gerl you speak of
It was a hit, but it was stuck at #2 for weeks, US and WW. It wouldn't have gone #1 without Britney.

"S&M" ascends to the Hot 100's summit fueled by the first full week of digital sales for the song's "Rih-mix" featuring Britney Spears. Spears' version of the song helps the song claim the Hot 100's Digital Gainer award and become Rihanna's record-extending 10th No. 1 on Digital Songs, as well as making Britney the third female with most No. 1 hits on the chart, selling 293,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 180% increase over last week. The Spears-assisted version of the track accounted for 76% of the song's overall weekly digital sum.
Spears earns her fifth Hot 100 No. 1 and second this year, following her own "Hold It Against Me" in January. Crediting Britney Spears on the listing of "S&M" atop the Hot 100 was the correct course of action due to the fact that her guest vocal version of "S&M" outsold Rihanna's solo version three-to-one, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Add that radio stations across the U.S. have played the new mix heavily, helping the song's airplay continues to build, securing the Hot 100's Airplay Gainer nod ("S&M" spends a third week at No. 1 on Radio Songs); the hoopla surrounding the song was too much to ignore (and not give Spears credit for on this week's ranking). In the Hot 100's history, "S&M" is just the fourth No. 1 collaboration between solo women.
She took it to the top. It became Britney's 5th US #1 and her 10th WW #1, so how is that irrelevant?

Would've been an even bigger hit without Pitbull's irrelevant verse.
