To be honest, it was clearly the best decision not to rush out her 2nd album. Ellie is making $$$ from Lights - if she went straight into album 2, she wouldn't be promoting Lights, which is just about to go Top 10 on Hot 100.

She won't do any more promotion for Lights - She's releasing her new album in the fall but she's doing it in a relaxed state.

I love her amateur stuff so I can't wait to hear her evolved, more mature stuff
