I had a feeling people would go for her more obviously depressing, long-winded non-singles. But to be honest, her first three singles from this era are the best work she's done in almost every way. They evoke more emotion than all of her other songs and they do so with stunning pop style. The lyrics are relatable but emotionally and thematically complex. I just love them.

Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You almost seem like one song to me now. An epic like We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions, but for a different context.

Set Fire To The Rain epitomizes her imaginative take on heartbreak. It's very difficult to make such a topic so authentic and relatable when it's most often used as trite lyrical filler.

That's why I picked it, and it shows a different side of Adele. People has labeled her as the "brokenhearted girl," but this shows her versatility and she wrote it by herself at a young age. "Rolling in the Deep" is definitely up there, though. That's just undeniably epic.

All three of those songs are just incredible.

I still tire of Adele's hype and adoration and I'm not a fan of 21, but those songs are just phenomenal.
