In my opinion, whoever says that if you're a monster, you can't listen to any Katy music, or if you're a Beystan, you can't listen to Rihanna, is just stupid. If you don't like the music, that's YOUR opinion, and you shouldn't force others to share it just because of the weak excuse that you like any other artist.

I hate it when people call themselves "music lovers" but aren't open-minded enough to listen to other artists or genres.

Stanning can take the fun out of music, seeing as every move a popstar makes is over-analyzed and judged. Sometimes it gets annoying feeling as though you have to defend your fave every second of every day.

Doesn't stop me from bopping to B'Day or The Evolution, or frequently visiting SYG.

No. I still enjoy/love other singers' music, but if I don't like something I won't listen to it. At least I don't make up excuses on how I dislike an artist's music because of his/her fans or anything along those lines.

I completely agree. I even feel like basic logic is completely clouded by the mere dislike of an artist thus giving people the idea that a certain artist or song is "basic". I don't really understand why people can't just enjoy the song for what it is. If it makes your hips move or gets your derrière twerkin, what's not to like? People's standards are way too high now days.

I do stan a bit, but it's mostly discussions with fellow stans/ fans, as opposed to dumb and senseless dragging and whatnot. If I don't like it, I mostly ignore it.

I enjoy music. Just because I'm a Bey stan doesn't mean I can't enjoy Rihanna or Gaga's music. I love music, so I'm not gonna listen to an artist just because that one JLo stan hates Bey. That's dumb and weak. I love great melodies and a variety of sounds. Everyone has something different to offer. And stanning can somewhat restrict that sentiment because everyone is so caught up in their fave being the best/being most iconic/being worldwide/being #1. It takes the fun out of simply enjoying music, which is what I'm here for.
