Thank you! She has got some impact! Also, she has had a mention from JB at the Brits and, please, this is iconic:
Sis, I love Jessie J too and I have everything of hers but she doesn't have a cultural impact. I recall Mr Blobby having more impact then Jessie and I'm from the UK too.
Cultural Impact is more important because for example whitney and madonna **** on aretha on the sales tip, but since aretha laid great tracks that affected singers life and the way they sing, so even though whit and donna have the sales but not the same cultural. Impact aretha has they will never be ranked or considered better than miss franklin.
Whitney and Madonna are always mentioned before Aretha regarding cultural impact. What are you talking about?
Why was that listed last. Its clearly her biggest achievement yet you named it last if it was listed 1st your case would have been alot better but what you had posted for Jessie J made it easy to clock especially that part about how your not her only fan on ATRL
That statement wasn't even true though.
MJ had six UK top ten hits from an album way back in the 80s (Bad). A few other artists have also done it as mentioned in the article mentioned previously. Jessie is however the first UK female to do it which is impressive. I actually think Jessie gets a raw deal from some people here, she's talented vocally and has done a wide range of successful songs. Having said that she's clearly not a cultural icon, even in the UK.
To answer the original question, call me greedy but I'd much prefer to have both.
But if I could have just one or the other, it would definitely be cultural impact over mega sales. It's basically like asking if you'd rather be The Smiths or The Backstreet Boys.
Adele, Avril and Lana.
3 very different queens but all rule equally.
Record Sales, trust me any artist without big sales will not have a cultural impact in the eye of the media or the general public.
Im becoming a little more comfortable in front of the camera. I wasnt used to it before. I was thrown into a new lifestyle and everything I do is kind of filmed or photographed. Im a private guy. I like to keep to myself. Im shy, maybe. It gets kind of tricky for me but, Im beginning to find the fun in it. I dont take myself too seriously so if Im front of the camera, thats what youre going to get, me clowning around."(Bruno Mars)
Before ratings started falling, The Voice UK attracted 10 million viewers a night. What other star attracts 10 million viewers a night? Jessie's impact spreads to TV.
JESSIE J. NO-ONE ELSE
I just don't get why people want to make sense of the world. At the end of the day, we are all living on some random rock in the middle of a big black darkness which we know nothing about. It is pretty much a lost cause. Don't agonise over it...just enjoy life!

Sorry but what are you talking about? Atrl lmao....
sweetie check the credits again (rolling stones, vh1 etc) any prestige. List aretha is the only female ranked ahead of madonna
I'd rather an Aretha Franklin (the most influential mainstream female artist) than a BSB.
We have to take the lead.
If we are educated, our girls will value education.
If we respect our bodies, they will value theirs.
If we are brave, they will grow up to be fearless.
Until we walk the walk, it just continues to be talk.
