Cultural impact usually leads to record sales and high record sales usually lead to cultural impact...for some people.

I think some artists at the moment like Lil Wayne and Drake are having a lot of cultural impact, but their sales aren't THAT high. Their albums sell massively though, but they don't have amazing Hot 100 success.

But I think the artists with cultural impact will be remembered more, because they affect people's lives. Artists like Taio Cruz and Flo Rida have loads of massive hits, but not much cultural impact.
