Unfortunately I'll have to say Christina Aguilera. :-/

I loved the singles from Back To Basics but the album overall just seemed mediocre to me. :-/

Then "Keeps Gettin' Better" happened which put the icing on the cake. :weeps:

Where oh where did this Christina go:

I was just looking at what people were saying. This doesn't really apply to this thread, but I used to be a Green Day stan during the American Idiot era. I'm not necessarily a stan anymore, but I do still like them.

No one really. Define the thread's meaning more? Like an artist we don't listen to as much, but still like? Or an artist we used to listen to on an obsessive disorder and randomly stop listening to them as much?

Because once I like/love an artist, I always do. I don't just randomly quit liking someone's music because of the "fans" That's rubbish.

I have listened to a LOT LESS of Jesse McCartney lately. I used to listen to him 200 times a week, now that count is less than 50 every week. Sometimes even less than 10. I found a new obsession, Steve Appleton, :eddie:

But your questions are basically the point of this thread as well.

Departure
10/24/2009, 1:24 PM
Well I was wondering because I have never had a case of liking/loving (stanning) an artist and then just randomly hate them. It's a rubbish idea and I think people try to hard to hate an artist when they honestly love their music...

There are cases though of listening to a lot less of an artist, but that doesn't always neccessarily mean you hate their music. It's like the whole Chris Brown ordeal, you may hate him as a person, but love his music. I will always be a fan of his music, because I have always loved it.

I don't let someone's personal life interfer with my listening habits.

Christina Aguilera. I stanned so hard for her, and then during the B2B era I just lost interest, and then I hated her. Now I really don't give a **** about her anymore. I just don't care.

The Blackeyed Peas. I used to think that they were so cool and 'different' back in 03. Now they are just so lame. Their recent success baffles me.

If Britney doesnt step her game up for her next album, she is going to be joining this list pretty soon. The Circus era almost turned me off her totally. She is still on my '**** list' for the scam that was The Circus Starring Britney Spears'. But I am willing to give her a chance for her next record. If she ****s that one up then me and her are DONE.

Others I used to like but I don't care for anymore:

-Mariah ( I was a huge Lamb)
- Shakira
- Lady Gaga ( She's proven to be just a one trick pony with the horrible songs 'Bad Romance' and 'Alejandro' each sounding like something she's done before)

I actually don't see how you could say this about either of them.

Madonna has always been a scandalous person. Her music has stayed fairly constant, but has become more trend-driven over time (Hard Candy is her most mediocre album IMO, it hasn't aged well at all). Britney's music is pretty similar too. Circus may not be as good as Blackout or ITZ but I'm sure she'll make a return to form next year.

The only thing I'll give you is that Britney was more "terrible" in 2007/2008 but she always had a lot of controversy surrounding her. It sounds like YOU changed, not them, and there is a huge difference there.

Anyway I fell out of love with Beyonce after the DIL era. I didn't like B'Day the album when it first came out, although I like it now.

Well, I have to say Janet Jackson.

She's always been an ace performer and all but sad to say, she doesnt have the same spark she used to possess whenever she owns the stage anymore. Even with the music, its the same formulaic inclination she's had for the past 6 years and showed no signs of progress. People got bored with her, obviously and evidently with the ever plummeting sales of her records and honestly, I dont think she can still come back and claim the apex of the pop culture she once had. Ms. Jackson must prove me wrong though and trust, I'll be supporting her new effort.

Hopefully this new decade, the universe will conspire on her favor.
We miss you Janet. :cries:

And Ms. Christina Aguilera.

The clown make up, the trashy outfits and ****ty trademarks --- its all part of who she is and we all loved her for that.
With the decision of finding more maturity and musical growth, she has converted herself from trash to glam, overnight. I must admit, its a quantum leap to throw yourself in such a drastic change and successfully, she carried it like no other. But thats the off part too. Alienating your fanbase to a whole new era that was exactly the opposite of the previous is risky and perilous. As a result, almost half of her fans completely turned their backs and abandoned her.

However, Xtina is out to win her fans back with the upcoming album and she's not missing the chance to blow either.
Go girl!

Brandy's albums in the mid/late 2000s are both masterpieces. One is an urban/R&B masterpiece and the other is a pop masterpiece...

All her **** sounds the same to me. It sounds so 90's. She stepped up her game with "What About Us" but fell back to her usual place shortly after. I don't see her EVER making a comeback because she just looks ugly (IMO) and she "murdered" a person. So I'm done with Brandy.

I haven't given up all hope on J Lo or Mariah, though. They have all the resources to make magic happen all over again IMO.

And I agree with everyone who says the Circus era was a mess for Britney. But I just gotta keep telling myself they did this to get Britney back in the good graces of the public. They could've threw the dice and done something really dark and edgy but of course they took the safe route - which is understandable cause her image was LITERALLY in the gutter. She lost custody of her children for crying out loud. At least we all got good music out of it, I think that's the main thing everyone should be grateful for. The day her music sucks is the day I'll lose love for Brit Brit, but she's never let me down on that front.

I must say, there's a better chance I might go buy an old Janet Jackson CD I never had, than go buy a new Janet CD that came out 2 days ago. Black Eyed Peas. I would've stanned hard for them back in '05. Elephunk and Monkey Business were great eras. I had a hidden anticipation for The E.N.D., just to hear how they evolved, and IMO, it was a disaster, even if they are at their height in popularity right now. I just can't stand to listen to any of their recent singles.

Someone else mentioned John Mayer. He'd be on my list too, he seems to be focusing more and more on the Adult Contemporary market, which frankly, puts me to sleep.

And one of the biggest is Fall Out Boy. They just became so commercial and watered-down. I used to have a ton of their songs on my iPod from a variety of their albums, but now I only have one, a flop single from Infinity on High that I instantly fell in love with.

Britney Spears, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey (although Obsessed is good), Miley Cyrus, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent (he was good from 2002-until Ayo Technology), most Hip-Hop/Rap, NSYNC, BSB. Somwhere between 2002-2004 is when I went to almost full-time rock mode.

I used to love Britney and Beyonce.

I actually own Britney's first 3 albums. :mazen:

Beyonce, sometimes, comes across as snotty to me, and that turned me off.

Britney revamped herself. She went from America's sweetheart to ass shaking **** and I didn't like the change.

I must say, there's a better chance I might go buy an old Janet Jackson CD I never had, than go buy a new Janet CD that came out 2 days ago. Her music took a U-turn in the 00's, but I'm just in a complete obsession with her persona that hasn't changed over the past decades. And, even now, her performances are always epic and astonishing and NO ONE can deny that.
Yup :clap3:

Beyonce! All my friends knew i was on beyonce like no other. I was in love with that woman. But now, ever since her stans started being rude and disrespectful to rihanna, I fell out of love and i've been on rihanna since her beginning.

Her performances are all just a bunch of dancing? Um, what? You clearly don't know who Janet Jackson is.

And speaking of impressing, I'm under the impression you haven't seen this year's VMAs?

I actually did... and I thought to myself "wow, she's getting too old for this ****" LOL

Her leap of the ground made me sad, and she was out of sync with big screen Michael. :-$

50 Cent - I used to think he was a great rapper from 2003 to 2005. Actually, it wasn't until around 2007 when I started hating The Massacre. Curtis was a hot mess as well. :mazen:

Did I? LMFAO.

I just don't see how you could say "Janet Jackson performances don't impress me" with Britney Spears in your avatar. It's not like we're comparing apples to oranges--Britney clearly takes after Janet in a lot of ways, and one of those ways USED to be performing. You said Janet lost her spark... and Britney hasn't? Give me a break!

Well Britney may not "wow" people with her dancing anymore, but her charisma on stage is still there. Janet is so stern on stage. It's as if she's performing to an empty stadium... Alls I'm saying is that her performances are NOT "always epic and astonishing". I feel like you've got to put your soul and personality into an epic performance and she hasn't done that in years. It's just a bunch of choreography.

It's just my opinion. Don't turn this into an argument.

:weeps: Ellipse was amazing!!!

It was very good. I don't know why, but for some reason I'm just not interested in her music anymore. I was a huge fan of the Speak For Yourself album and I still adore the Frou Frou album. I'd maybe be interested in her again if she and Guy would bring back Frou Frou or something.
